Over 100 Deer Found Dead Near Missoula

More than 100 whitetail deer have been found dead along the Clark Fork river west of Missoula. Tissue samples have been taken to determine the cause of death. EHD (epizootic hemorrhagic disease) is suspected as the cause of death.

Dead Elk Herd in New Mexico

More than 100 elk were found dead on a ranch in northeastern New Mexico this week. The New Mexico Department of Game and Fish are investigating as the cause of death is not apparent. Tissue samples and water samples are being sent for testing.

The suspected cause of death is Epizootic Hemorrhagic Disease, which is a disease caused by insect bites that can inflict fatalities within 8 to 36 hours. Continue reading
